Biography:

Karen was born near Auckland and raised in South Canterbury. She graduated from Canterbury University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts (History).

Karen was admitted to the bar in 2000 and then worked for two years for a law firm in Timaru in the areas of criminal, family and commercial law. Karen has travelled extensively and worked for two years with the Lord Chancellor's Office in London.

Karen returned to New Zealand in February 2003 and joined Avison Reid Lawyers at that time. Karen was appointed as an Associate of the firm in January 2006.
