Biography:

Ian was born and educated in the Hutt Valley. Ian attended Eastern Hutt School, Hutt Intermediate School and Hutt Valley High School before graduating from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1982.

Ian commenced working for the predecessors of Avison Reid Lawyers in 1983, and became a Partner in 1987. Ian is married with three teenage children and enjoys golf, rugby coaching and tennis. Ian is a member of the Presbyterian Church and a Trustee for the Aroha Care Centre for the Elderly.
